A run on from the first one..

I should have said (because it may not have been obvious from the mood boards I posted in the last blog) that my inspiration comes in many forms.

Sometimes when we get a brief at College and I start researching for it, I discover artists, designers, photographers etc that have inspired me for years and I just didn't know their names.

I am inspired often.
I look at things every day and think a number of things.

1. That I had designed/photographed/thought of that.
2. How beautiful things are.
3. That I am always driving when I see something of great beauty/design etc.
4. No. 3 is frustrating.

I have a Pinterest page where all the things that fill me with joy are posted.

Go have a look if you want.

Also, it bothers me that the default font is Times. Yuk.

Anti-design - 1 week brief.

It occurs to me that I should have started this blog last year, when I began my HNC year.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing, so, better late than never I suppose.

Our first brief was a week long one on Anti-design from this brief.

Below are my mood boards, sketches and research culminating in the final design.

I went out with my camera after we were asked to shoot good and bad design. I got a bit distracted from that however and took photos of urban decay, shadows and various other things that took my fancy. I also have so many pics from over the years and wanted to use something from them for my final design. My thought process for the anti-design began with the photos of window signs which were overlapping due to the sun. I thought this was really interesting and eventually designed a poster which broke a number of design laws.
